A gateway connects the Casambi network to the outside world. You need one when scenes and schedules must span several networks, when the installation needs remote access, or when the lighting is to be controlled from a higher-level system.

One network handles 250 devices. Larger installations are therefore split up, and the gateway is what ties them together.

Frequently asked questions

Not for a single space controlled on site. You need one to reach the installation remotely, to run schedules that continue without a phone nearby, or to tie several networks together.

Normally one per network that needs external access. Across several floors they are planned together with the network segmentation, not afterwards.
