Controllers are the devices that translate between Casambi and the existing installation: DALI interfaces, dimmer modules and control units that let luminaires without a built-in radio be controlled anyway.
This is usually the key in refurbishment. Instead of replacing luminaires you add a controller in the ceiling or in the luminaire and get wireless control of what is already installed.
